Fundamental to the success of our work in preventing youth homelessness is enthusiastic, passionate and hardworking board members. Their collective hard work and dedication have achieved inspiring results; they are focused on long-term investment in the future sustainability and growth of Kids Under Cover.

Board Members

Nathaniel Popelianski

Nathaniel Popelianski – Chair

Nathaniel is a partner at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and national practice group leader of the real estate practice. A specialist in real estate projects, Nathaniel acts for large corporates, developers, global and domestic investors, registered housing associations and financiers on the full spectrum of property issues.

With an impressive career in Law, Nathaniel ensures Kids Under Cover practices are within the law and our constitution reflects our organisation and growth.

Nathaniel joined the Kids Under Cover board in August 2012 and was elected Vice Chairman in November 2017.


Julia Griffith PSM

Julia joined the board in May 2021 after an outstanding career in public service, including areas highly relevant to Kids Under Cover. Julia served as Deputy Commissioner and Acting Commissioner for the Victorian Public Sector Commission and as a senior executive in the Victorian Public Service (VPS) for the past 20 years. During this time, she was responsible for providing quality portfolio advice to a range of Ministers, leading and overseeing justice portfolios including Corrections, Youth Justice, Police, Aboriginal Justice, Crime Prevention, Victims, Working with Children Check, Asset Confiscation, Infringements and Road Safety.

Julia was awarded the Public Service Medal, Victoria in 2018 for outstanding public service to youth justice & correctional services. She is also an IPAA Victorian Fellow – awarded for outstanding contribution to public administration.

Julia is keen to assist Kids Under Cover make even more impact for vulnerable young people as a key partner with the Victorian Government.

 

 

Christopher Cramond Director

Christopher joined the Board in December 2021, after becoming involved with Kids Under Cover a decade earlier through pro-bono consulting.

He strongly believes in the combined preventative approach of education and housing to support young people.

Christopher is currently the Head of Customer Strategy & Insights for a major superannuation fund, and brings his professional skills to Kids Under Cover offering strategic frameworks to support long term planning and robust oversight of organisational outcomes.


 

Brett Comer

Brett Comer – Director

Brett has held executive positions in the health and human services, financial services, and early childcare education sectors. His primary focus is collaborating with others to achieve impactful and sustainable outcomes for customers, the community, and related stakeholders.

With a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, he is also a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at State Trustees, Brett previously led significant transformation and enterprise-wide improvement initiatives in customer experience, stakeholder engagement, and financial performance at Bupa Australia and New Zealand, Monash IVF, and Camp Australia.

Brett is passionate about positive change and committed to using his extensive experience to contribute to Kids Under Cover’s mission to combat youth homelessness by creating studios with family members or carers and providing education and training scholarships.
