More than 20,000 disadvantaged and at-risk Victorian children are facing even more uncertainty following the announcement by nine youth charities that many of their critical support services may be cut due to lack of donations.
As the global financial crisis tightens its grip on Australian families, charities including: Kids Under Cover, Lighthouse Foundation, Ardoch Youth Foundation, Whitelion, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Stride Foundation, KIDS Foundation, Evolve at Typo Station and Activate Australia, have warned that their services are under dire threat due to lack of funding.
The charities have united under the banner KIDS UNDER THREAT (KUT) in the hope that they can encourage recipients of the Federal Government's $900 financial stimulus payment to donate.
