Introducing our new mascot... Bernie the bug!
Recently Kids Under Cover supporter, Erin Lewis, donated a 1972 VW Superbug to Kids Under Cover as part of the Donate Your Car program. The Smart Repair & Rectification team at ManheimFowles kindly donated their time and materials to spray ‘Bernie’ bright yellow and decal with Kids Under Cover logos.
Bernie will be used as our mascot at various events in the coming months including the Donate Your Car Media
Launch at Federation Square on Sunday 5 December 2010 and at the ManheimFowles Family Day on Wednesday 22 December 2010.
All proceeds from these events will go towards supporting homeless and at risk young people. In other Donate Your Car news, it gives us great pleasure to announce our official Major Partners of the program – ManheimFowles and JUST.
ManheimFowles have supported the program for the past 3 years and have stepped up their support in a number of ways. Most recently they held a special ‘Kids Under Cover Auction’ at the Altona site. Close to 30 cars were sold raising over $13,000 to support homeless and at risk young people.
JUST will be supporting the program with a brand new website, online advertising and media opportunities. We thank JUST and ManheimFowles for their support and look forward to working together on this exciting program in the coming months.
For those who aren’t familiar with ‘Donate Your Car’, this program allows vehicle owners to make a contribution to Kids Under Cover by donating their car, no matter what condition, which is then sold at auction.
