Frequently Asked Questions
How can you make a donation at work?
Workplace Giving operates through your employer’s payroll system so if you get paid weekly, you will donate weekly and if you get paid monthly you will donate monthly. It is a simple, stress-free way to donate regularly to Kids Under Cover in Queensland.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount you can donate?
No, but your employer may have some rules around workplace giving therefore you will need to discuss this with your employer. But remember that donations must be $2 or more to be tax deductable.
Can you claim this on your tax return?
Yes you can as everyone who donates through a workplace giving program can claim the total amount of donations in your tax return. Your employer will let you know how much you have donated over the year in some written form or it will be printed on your group certificate.
Can you stop your donations at any time?
Yes you can. Your employer will usually set some rules around workplace giving. Some may ask you to commit to six months of donations because more frequent changes can become expensive to administer.
How will you know what your money is being used for?
The advantage of a workplace giving program is that Kids Under Cover receives regular income and we will not have to issue individual receipts, saving time and money. Kids Under Cover will incur little or no administration costs and 100% of donations go directly to Kids Under Cover. You are welcome to ask Kids Under Cover for regular feedback on how donations are being expended.
