Kids Under Cover House Program Victoria

In addition to the bungalow program, Kids Under Cover also has a housing program whereby 13 houses are managed by our member Community Service Organisations.

Kids Under Cover leases 13 houses to Community Service Organisations (CSOs) who manage the placement of high need young people (with a focus on homeless young mums).

Located in metropolitan and regional Victoria, our houses comprise two-five bedroom homes and two and three bedroom units. House occupants range in age from newborn to 25 years.

Housing Program Snapshot

• 63 young people lived in a Kids Under Cover house in 08/09
• Of the 63, more than one third successfully resolved their case
management issues and moved to independent living
• 4 houses accommodate young mothers who need high-level
care to help them learn parenting and independent living skills
• The majority of properties accommodated both males and
females with just over 50% of all occupants aged 12-18 years
• Over half of all residents were Child Protection clients
