Run your own fundraising activity and help us build homes and provide scholarships and mentors to homeless and at-risk young people.

Fundraising in the community is an essential part of Kids Under Cover’s fundraising activities. By organising your own event or activity, not only will you have lots of fun and meet new people, but you will be helping to change the lives of homeless and at-risk young people.

Whether you already know the activity you’d like to hold, or need some suggestions to get you started, please give us a call on 1800 801 633. We can help make your event a great success.


How to start your fundraising

  1. Decide what type of activity you’d like to organise. Call us if you are stuck for ideas.
  2. Read our Fundraising Guidelines and submit a Fundraising Registration Form. These can be found online at www.kuc.org.au or by calling us on 1800 801 633.
  3. Once your application has been approved (usually within two working weeks), we will send you an ‘Authority to Fundraise’ letter by email or through the post.
  4. You are now ready to start fundraising!


Ideas for fundraising events

There are so many activities you could choose from. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Organise a morning tea at work for gold coin donation.
  • Host a quiz or bingo night.
  • Ask friends/family for a donation in lieu of birthday gifts.
  • Organise a fun run/walk.
  • Hold a raffle at work.
  • Hold a charades evening.
  • Get sponsored to shave off your beard or hair.
  • Hold a masked ball.
  • Arrange a darts competition.
  • Hold a wine tasting or trivia evening.
  • Hold a 60s, 70s or 80s party.
  • Host a karaoke evening.
  • Hold a garage sale.
  • Collect gold coin donations for Casual Clothes Day’ at work or school.

 

Making fundraising easy

It’s even easier to fundraise by registering with Go Fundraise or Everyday Hero which are online fundraising pages specifically for your event. Once registered, you can simply set up a personalised fundraising page and decide whether to hold your own event or take part in an existing one. Then nominate Kids Under Cover as the beneficiary. It’s that simple.
